Houshmand Ebadi

Houshmand Ebadi

Houshmand Ebadi is an Iranian Ney player living in Tehran. He started learning music when he was 7 years old. He learned Ney playing with Reza Djamshidian and later, with Abdolnaqi Afsharinia. The turning point of his professional life was meeting with Mohammad Reza Lotfi when he did his first official concert under his direction, with Sheyda Ensemble and continued playing with him until he passed over. Collaborating with maestro Daryoush Tala’i is another highlight of his experiences.

“Fifer” (2019) is the first collection of his solo work which is published as part of the “Intimate Sentiments” by the Kherad Art House Music Publication. Hoshmand Ebadi masters all techniques of Ney and has a deep knowledge of Iranian classical music, but what makes him an original artiste is his capacity of making improvisations while interpreting sophisticated repertoires.

In November 2024 Houshmand Ebadi joined maestro Hossein Alizadeh – one of the greatest masters of Iranian music alive – and the Hamavayan Ensemble in a European tour with concerts in 14 cities that mesmerised audiences and received rave reviews.
