Khaled Al-Hafez
Khaled Al Hafez is a Syrian vocalist and educator from Aleppo, born in 1981, specializing in the traditions of classical Arabic singing and Muwashshah performance. He received his formal musical training at the Aleppo Institute of Music, where he studied maqam, Arabic rhythmic systems, and traditional vocal performance under distinguished masters and scholars of the classical tradition.
He later served as an instructor of classical Arabic singing at Higher Institute of Music in Damascus, teaching vocal technique, maqam interpretation, ornamentation, and the stylistic aesthetics of muwashshahat and classical Arabic repertoire. In addition, he has led workshops and masterclasses internationally, sharing a pedagogical approach that combines academic rigor with the authenticity of oral musical heritage.
Known for his expressive oriental voice and refined interpretative style, Khaled Al Hafez is dedicated to preserving and transmitting the legacy of classical Arabic music while presenting it with artistic sensitivity for contemporary audiences.
