
Eléonore Fourniau
Born in 1987, Eleonore Fourniau spent three years of her adolescence in Uzbekistan. Trained in classical piano, she discovered hurdy-gurdy at the age of 20. After studying Russian and history at the Lyon Teacher Training College, she moved to Istanbul in 2010 and stayed there for six years. Fascinated by the cultural diversity of Turkey, she is dedicated to learning the languages and popular music of Turkey through singing and saz at the State Conservatory of İstanbul, at the saz school of Erdal Erzincan, with different teachers, as well as during her numerous trips around the country. Internationally recognized for the quality of her vocal interpretation of Kurdish and Anatolian music, she has an active solo career in Europe and around the world, accompanying herself dell saz and hurdy-gurdy in which she has developed a unique performance style. Founding member of several groups (Esman, Telli Turnalar, Samaïa, trio with Sylvain Barou and Efrén Lopez) he has also collaborated with several artists such as Mercan Erzincan, Mikail Aslan, Birol Topaloğlu, , Keyvan Chemirani, Kamaan ensemble, Christine Zayed, Istan trio etc.. She is currently preparing her first solo album.
Passionate about pedagogy, she organizes and teaches many workshops and online courses on Anatolian singing and music.
